Originally, I was saving up for a trip to the Galápagos Island through my high school’s science department, but due to Covid-19 the trip was cancelled. I wanted to go to the Galápagos Islands for the life experience and the ability to see what opportunities were around the world. When I started saving, I was a sophomore and unsure what I wanted to go to college for. I hoped that being on the islands would have given me an insight into the world of marine biology. Though I know I want to work in the communications field I still have an interest in ocean life.
There are opportunities everywhere, you just have to put yourself out there!

Visit the Compañía de Jesús church

Go to the equatorial line
- Chance to stand in two hemispheres at one time!
Santa Cruz Island
El Chato Ranch
- By requesting a taxi from Puerto Ayora you will arrive at the reserve after a picturesque journey of approximately 45 minutes.
- See wild tortoises and birds.
Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station
- Av. Charles Darwin s/n, Puerto Ayora, Galápagos, Ecuador
- Areas open to the public include an exhibition hall, native gardens and public library.
Relax at the Tortuga Bay
- 20-minute water-taxi ride from the main water taxi dock in Puerto Ayora
- Lots of marine life are seen on the beach and below the water.
Isabela Island
Go to Poza De Los Flamengos
