Eleanor Roosevelt Center Banned Books Award Ceremony 2024 Promotion
In efforts to promote the upcoming Banned Books Award Ceremony I created teasers and clips of the 2024 event that can be used for future promotion.
On February 17th, 2024, the Eleanor Roosevelt Center honored seven incredible authors in a moving evening at Bard College. Each of these authors have experienced challenges of their books by municipalities and school boards.
Take a look at the other work I created for the non-profit organization:
“Rory and Jess Study” Reenactment
Kamren Dejesus, Liam Chen, Jeffrey Cormier, and I worked together to recreate the Gilmore Girls scene “Rory and Jess Study” with the help of our cast, Emily Eisengrein and Seth Fromowitz. I worked as the director, production designer, and video editor. The purpose of this project was to convey our understanding of all video, audio and lighting techniques we learned so far in the course. I edited the sequence together in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Documentary: Juggling Bobcats
For this project Matt Dolbec, Reiven Douglas and I produced a documentary on two Quinnipiac University women basketball players. Reiven took charge of the pre production research on both her teammates, Jillian Casey and Jacqueline Grisdale, to create interview questions and a voiceover script. During production day Matt and I attended a morning practice with a UX-90 camera, tripod, omni light kit, and lavalier mics. Reiven lead the interviews as Matt did Camera and I checked Lighting and Audio. In order to get B-roll Matt and I filmed different shots of the practice and the People’s United Center. Matt edited the video and Reiven sent me the voiceover script to me. In completing the final product Reiven and I gave Matt critics and input on how to edit the video.
Believing and Luck
I worked with Kamren DeJesus in producing a video interview of Emily Eisengrein and Ryan Johanson. Kameren and I worked together to set up three point lighting using an Omni kit. During the production process I operated a UX-90 camera, checked the audio levels from the lavalier mics while Kamren interviewed Emily, and then vice-versa for Ryan’s interview. In post production, I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit.
Light Reading
For this project Matthew Dolbec, Mia Miceli, and I created a three clip sequence of a book being read. During pre production process the group of us set up audio, lighting and the camera. Before sitting in front of the camera I set the lights up in the general three point setup, a motivated light, and a backlight. During production a UX-90 camera and a boom mic were used. Individually I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the sequence together, while focusing on continuity.
QU Audio Hunt
For this project I recorded audio and video of 10 sounds around Quinnipiac University. I conveyed my knowledge about video composition and how to capture and edit audio in post Production. I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit.
Experience on “Set”

In July 2019 Connecticut Health I-Team held their 9th multimedia journalism camp for high school students interested in the Communications Industry. I learned about Digital Journalism, Podcasting, and Video Storytelling.
At Cheshire High School I was introduced to the world of creating and editing video. In Fall 2019 I learned the basics of videography and Adobe Premiere Pro in Digital Video Productions 1 with Mr. Keith Moyer. In Spring 2020, during the Covid-19 quarantine, I took Digital Photography with Mr. Dan Warburton who taught me the how darkrooms work, the basics of a digital camera and Adobe Photoshop. In Fall 2020 I expanded my learning of Video Production and Editing in Digital Video Productions 2 with Mr. Keith Moyer. This course was asynchronous, I would film at home, learn the software program in class to then finish the project at home.
In applying to Quinnipiac University I was a Film, Television and Media Arts Major. During Fall 2021 I attended two video production courses. In single camera production with Professor Michael Schleif, I worked with a UX-90 camera and learned different audio and lighting techniques. In multi-camera production with Professor Peter Sumby I learned principles of tv and film studio productions in the all-digital 4K television studio. I have gained knowledge on the tools of Adobe Premiere Pro through both courses.
In Spring 2022 I officially changed my major and declared my minor in Film & Television Production/Writing. I continued to be active in the film/television community on campus and took part in Quinnipiac Film Society’s Spring Production. “A Bridge on Fire”, a short film written and directed by Karl Brooks, was created March 25-27th, 2022. While on set I experienced and worked on a student run production set for three days as a 2nd Assistant Camera(AC) and a Production Assistant (PA). In these positions I learned the roles and tasks of each department and how to correctly use a slate. I was available to lend a hand to the director, camera and sound department and the cast between takes.
In Spring 2023 I attended Intermediate Productions with Professor John O’Brien and learned the Sony A7 II camera, Final Draft 12 and Movie Magic. In addition to these two screenwriting programs we utilized Adobe Premiere Pro on all projects in the course. In Fall 2023 I learned to shape stories for the screen in Professor Fredrick Staudmyer’s Screenwriting course. By the end of the course I wrote my own screenplay, “For You” using Final Draft 12.
