Today is my final day as a student, more specifically as a graduate student at Quinnipiac University. Over the past 15 months I’ve been focused on improving my research, project management, creating visual and multimedia designs, digital strategy and storytelling skills. Having a combination of skills and experiences will help me succeed in the ever changing world of interactive media and communications.

The past fifteen months have been stressful but as an organized and communicative person I was able to keep track of my work to ensure that tasks were completed in a timely manner. Learning how to use modern planning tools such as Asana, Notion, editorial and content calendars made research, writing, and project work faster and smoother. Keeping track of work makes showing off my skills to professional peers and future employers. As a social media specialist I will need to stay organized when creating content strategies that meet business and creative goals with measurable results.

Visuals and multimedia designs are essential to engaging a brands intended audience. By mastering content strategies and social media techniques, I’ll be continue to craft campaigns that achieve real results. My knowledge of audio and video production also will enable me to produce high-quality multimedia projects with dramatic, non-dramatic, or interactive storytelling formats. By integrating the storytelling and communication theories I learned in class with my hands-on experiences, I’ve crafted strategies that drove engagement and increased brand visibility.

Quinnipiac University’s Interactive Media and Communications program has taught me a variety of technical, strategic, and creative skills that have prepared me to succeed on any communications team. Just because schooling is over doesn’t mean that the learning stops. I will stay up to date with industry trends and best creative practices by regularly checking communication reports, networking with professionals, and experimenting with the new digital tools.
